While the Mount Washington and Lady of the Lake were perhaps the most notable ships, there were a number of commercial steamships on the lake at various times. Also, the Lake Winnipesaukee area attracted visitors with financial means. The early 1900's saw construction of summer "camps", many quite elaborate, mostly on the lake shores. All had recreational boats of some type, and quite a few were motorized steamboats.

The Wolfeboro Historical Society welcomes the donation of local photographs from the early days, as well as any details that may be found in ancestors attics.
