The South Wolfeboro Fire Company building (Monitor Engine Co.) behind the building known as the Rust Store, in disrepair, March 24, 1956. The building was used until 1939, long after the Town's Fire Departments were mobilized, because the Monitor Engine Co. Fire Chief insisted on keeping the hand pumper equipment in operation. Finally abandoned because it wasn't needed, the building's deterioration continued until it was too expensive to restore, and it was demolished in 1989.
