Municipal Power Plant on Factory Street (now Lehner St.), 1897. This was a steam-operated generator. Documents say power came from the Libbey and Varney Co. sawmill nearby, but are not specific. It is assumed this means steam was provided, but needs further research. The chimney in back belonged to the first shoe factory, which was built in 1884, then burned down in 1887.
