Entrance path to today's Carry Beach, c. 1905. This path has been called the "Carrying Place", "Indian Carry" and several other names, because it was used by Native Americans as a very narrow land area to portage canoes from Jockey Cove (off Wolfeboro Bay) to Winter Harbor.
