Perley E. Young's store on Center St. in Wolfeboro Falls. This grocery and general store began in 1866, owned by Joseph P. Heath, selling goods for cash or exchange, was sold to the Mason Brothers in 1887, Salem I. Carpenter in 1892, Henry Fields & Perley E. Young in 1894. Young became sole owner in 1897. He was quite innovative, & in 1905, delivered goods by boat to summer guests around Lake Wentworth; business was so popular, he needed a second boat in 1911. After his death in 1936, his sons ran the business into the 1940's.
