Caption indicates this stone structure of field stones, ten feet wide with earth fill, created a pond about 100 x 300 feet, and powered a shingle mill. Taken April 22, 1989, off 109A across from the Hersey Homestead. This location is on Pine Hill Rd. across from Waumbeck Rd. From at least the mid 1800's into the 1900's, there was a shingle mill and a threshing mill (grain separator) on the site. The dam was on Nineteen Mile Brook. The dam has been reconstructed by the present owners.
