A panoramic view of downtown Wolfeboro, taken from the ice, c. 1910. L-R, the cupola marks the Durgin Block, below & slightly left is the Piper House (turret can be seen if you blow up the view), later moved toward the lake (1956); the Yum Yum Bakery is there now. A few buildings over is the outlet of Back Bay with the darker Railroad Depot in the foreground; the Wool Corner is behind on the left, Goodwin Block to the right, then the larger Peavey Block, now the Avery Block. To the right, the mansard roof marks the Hotel Elmwood, where the Post Office is now, the spire in the background is the Unitarian Church Spire on Glendon St., now the Village Players Theater. The group of connected buildings leading to the lake was the Lake Shore House, now the site of Cate & Town Park. Next in the background are two prominent houses, the Folsom House, now the supermarket site, and the Peavey House, now Citizen's Bank, followed by Brewster Memorial Hall (Town Hall).
