Photo taken mid-1890's shows, L-R, Daniel Chamberlain boathouse on the shore, bell tower of Brewster Memorial Hall, and immediately to the right, the back end of Samuel Avery's long barn. In the center is the Kingswood Inn Boathouse. which became part of Brewster Free Academy, and was large enough to play basketball games there until torn down in 1919. On the right is the Kingswood Inn, built in 1849 by Daniel Pickering and his son-in-law Charles Rollins. Originally named the Pavilion Hotel, it was sold and taken down in 1899. The site, at Pickering Corner, is now the Brewster soccer field.
