View from Bay St., c. 1885. Logs waiting to be processed at the sawmill are in the foreground. Right center is the spire of the Unitarian Church on Glendon St. The spire was later torn down by the Masons; the building is now the Village Players theater. On the far left is the shoe factory which had the Cropley & Co. shoe manufacturer on one side & the Monroe Co. shoe manufacturer on the other side. Located on Factory St. (now Lehner St.), the building burned down Aug. 9, 1887, and was shortly rebuilt.
