The Meader homestead on North Main St. near Forest Rd. was settlers farm No. 4. purchased by Ebenezer Meader about 1770. The photo is c. 1880's. The homestead remained in the Meader family until 1919. Sometimes used as a boarding house, it was known as "The Willows" & "The Elms". Summer visitors were known to help with farming chores, like city folk on a Dude Ranch. The location is now Sky Ridge Farms.
