Sept. 21, 1938, hurricane. Logs completely fill Back Bay (then called Front Bay) waiting to be processed at the sawmill which is at the right end of the bay (not in this photo). The mills at Wolfeboro Falls are at the left end of the bay. Note the railroad causeway and the water above. This area was then called Back Bay, later filled in, and is now Foss Field.
