March/April 1953. High water at Wolfeboro town docks. This scene has been repeated several times over the years, but this is one of the worst. This was a man-made disaster as Public Service of New Hampshire kept lake levels artificially high by damming the outlet to prevent downstream flooding. Docks and low-lying areas were flooded all around Lake Winnipesaukee.
