Wolfeboro Historical Society Museum Tours Schoolhouse Tour

All grades were taught by one teacher in this room. Most were women and most only taught a few terms and then got married which meant a full time job at home. In one term in 1859 there were 56 students on the role aging from 4 to 18 and most students attended most days. This was an unusual number of students, generally fewer were enrolled.
