Frank E. Hersey house, west side of Elm St. c. 1900. House is at 56 Elm St. Frank and his brother Fred E. Hersey operated the Hersey Brothers lumber mill on the Smith River from 1882 into the early 1900's. They had as many as 12 employees and also built a number of summer cottages in the 1890's.
