Center St. in Wolfeboro Falls, c. 1897, looking from the railroad tracks north toward Elm St. The first building on the left is the Joseph P. Heath Store, selling dry goods and groceries. The store was later owned by Perley Young. The second building on the left is Hersey's Market (Charles D. Hersey) & appropriately depicts a steer, as this was a meat market. The first building on the right has a truncated sign which reads Parlor, Cottage, & Bedroom Furniture. This was William B. Hodges Furniture Store and Undertaking Rooms. The building later was the State Liquor Store from the 1940's until 1972.
