The Wolfeboro Laundry building on Center St. at Grove St., Wolfeboro Falls, owned by Harry E. Libby, displays the town name on the roof, c. 1930's. The sign was intended as a guide for aviators, blacked out in 1942 to avoid helping enemy planes, then repainted after the war. This building was erected in 1925, after the previous building was demolished by a boiler explosion in 1924. The business operated until 1967.
