Although not in Wolfeboro, this January photo of a funky chicken on a horse-drawn sleigh illustrates an ingenious way to advertise the town's annual poultry show. For the city folk, a poultry show is where different breeds are shown and farmers can place advance orders to buy chicks later in the spring, when hatchlings are available to become egg layers, or meat chickens. Mature roosters may also be available for those who want to establish their own breeding farm.
