The caption on this photo is quite misleading, with poor misspelled wording. The Ice House on the right belongs to the Belvue House. The Belvue House, originally built in 1847, is the group of several buildings and a boathouse, seen to the right of the large building in the center; by this time the name has changed to the Lake Shore Hotel (the site is now Cate and Town Parks). The large building is the Peavey Block, still standing and now known as the Avery Block. To its left, the one-story building confirms the photo date as early 1900's, since the former large Goodwin Block is gone, burned in an 1899 fire.
