Built as the Glendon House in 1872, this impressive 4-story hotel with a mansard roof was in the center of downtown. Later, it was the Wolfeboro Hotel, New Wolfeboro Hotel, Hobbs-Is-Inn and Hotel Elmwood. It was razed in 1935 to build the present Wolfeboro Post Office. Photo was taken c. 1910, when it was the Hotel Elmwood. Note the water trough is still there, but the hitching rail is gone.
