The Pavilion Hotel at Pickering Corner was built in 1849, became the Kingswood Inn in 1890, and was sold and removed in 1899. This photo was taken c. 1880's. This view is the front and right side seen from South Main St. The hotel was the largest one ever built in Wolfeboro, with an advertised capacity of 300 guests. Their land extended to the lake, and had a boathouse, bowling alley and diving platform on the shore. The site is now Brewster Soccer Field.
