View from North Main St., looking east, c. 1887. The road in the middle is Bay St. On the right is Clow's Lumber Mill, with the 4-story Shoe Factory on Factory St. just above. The largest body of water was known as Front Bay (now commonly called Back Bay). The straight object above is the railroad tracks, with (then called) Back Bay on the other side. That area was filled in starting in 1966 and is now Foss Field. On the upper left is Wolfeboro Falls, with Copple Crown Mt. in the background. Longstack Mt. is in the right background.
