Wolfeboro Historical Society Photograph Archive Houses North Main St Houses

The Meader homestead on North Main St. near Forest Rd. was settlers farm No. 4. purchased by Ebenezer Meader about 1770. This photo of their sap house is c. 1880. Note the 13 star flag on the left, which actually dates to 1770. The flags good condition indicates it was only used during the short sap season and well cared for.
