Wolfeboro Historical Society Photograph Archive Houses South Main St Houses

The John L. Peavey Mansion at the corner of South Main St. & Union St. was a Wolfeboro landmark, c. 1900. In 1934, owner Charles F. Pinkham installed gas pumps in front of the house. In 1938, he sold out to Texaco, & they tore the building down to put up a Texaco service station. After decades as a gas station, the station was replaced in 2018 by Citizen's Bank.
