This stately brick building is on South Main St. next to the gas station (on the downtown side of Center St. Still in use today, it was built in 1836 to house the Wolfeborough Bank. The Bank was founded in 1834 and had a short scandalous history. Later owned by Dr. Nathaniel Scott & his family, it was used as a boarding house from the 1900's into the 1960's and is still known as the Scott House. Sometimes used as a dormitory for Brewster students, the student's called the building Scott's Palace.
