The caption on this photo is limited and incomplete. This photo appears to be taken from a farm in the area of Dead Horse Hill, now site of a communications tower, looking southeast. North & South Main Streets run past the First Christian Church on the right and Town Hall in the upper center. Copple Crown Mt. is in the right background. The Shoe Factory is next to the water in the upper left, and if you expand the photo, the tall spire of the Unitarian Church on Glendon St. (now the Village Players theater) is left of center. The huge Clow's Sawmill is on the left and the two bodies of water separated by the railroad causeway clearly show the old Front Bay (now Back Bay) & the old Back Bay (now Foss Field). C. 1900.
